What Will You Be?

“The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” -Micah 6:8

What will you be? What will you do with your life? A friend posted a video the other day that I will share with you a little later. It was a powerful video and really makes you think about how you spend your life and the time God has given you. For me, watching the video was a blessing because I could see a difference in my life that is not like most people’s, and I was thankful that God revealed it to me. At the same time, it also made me aware that there is so much more that can still be done. Which makes me want to ask you the question...

What does God want you to do with your life? What will you BE?

First and foremost, He wants us to know Him, to have a relationship with Him, and to bring glory to Him by the way we live our lives and by how we relate to Him and others (Matthew 22:37-39). God calls us to live with a noble purpose, with love being our highest motivation. God is developing you to your highest potential  so you can make the greatest possible contribution to the world.

When will you be ready to discover God’s plan for you?

God created us to be decision makers, and it is important for you to know that if you are making decisions based primarily on what makes "me" happy, then you have your priorities backwards and you will stumble at every turn. Remember the ORDER of things. God first, then you (Matthew 10:39).

Each one of us is a unique person with gifts, abilities, and desires that give us the opportunities for creativity. We can discover who we are and what those deep, God-placed desires of our hearts mean. They are clues to help us make decisions about what we should do with our lives and how we will make a difference. I am so thankful  for the guidance God gives us in life through His word and prayer. God is so pleased when we stand up and make a moral decision that reflects our desire to live at the highest and most useful level attainable to bring Him glory.

The absolute truth is life is not to be driven by what makes us happy, but by what brings God glory. God knows what you are capable of, and He will equip you for the task He has for you. All you have to do is take that first step of faith. Stay open to His direction and redirection, and He will take you on an adventure that satisfies your unique design and surpasses your wildest dreams - you just have to have a willingness to say “yes”  to being what God has called you to BE.
