Idolatry - Check out Exodus 20:3

Did you know that God is a jealous God? Jealous in the sense that you can’t worship Him as well as other things, i.e. money, status, possessions, etc. Note the first of the 10 commandments in Exodus 20:3!

Did you know that God is a jealous God? In Exodus 20:3, it says, “You shall have no other gods before me.” This is the first of the ten commandments that God gave to His children. He prioritizes this commandment because all the following commandments are affected by how we uphold this first law. Idolatry is a fast path to becoming backslidden in the faith. The breaking of every commandment stems from prioritizing something or someone above God, whether it’s idolizing yourself, greed, hatred, etc. Anything can become an idol. Thankfully, God is a jealous God and He has given us clear instructions on how to live a prosperous life! As Christians, we must keep God at the forefront of our lives. He is our only salvation, and therefore deserves all of our worship and pursuit.
